Job summary

Engage Education Ltd is seeking a dedicated HLTA to support pupils with SEMH needs in a Bromley primary special needs school. You will plan and deliver lessons with teachers, run small-group interventions, and help create a nurturing, inclusive classroom where every child can thrive.

The ideal candidate has an HLTA qualification or equivalent, strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting learning: Plan and deliver engaging lessons in collaboration with teachers, adapting the curriculum to meet the needs of children with SEMH.
  • Leading interventions: Work one-on-one and in small groups to provide focused learning and emotional support.
  • Building relationships: Foster trust and positive relationships with students to encourage confidence and resilience.
  • Behaviour support: Promote a calm and inclusive classroom environment, using effective strategies to manage behaviour.
  • Team collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create and implement holistic education plans.
  • Student progress: Monitor, assess, and celebrate the achievements of students, ensuring their progress is communicated effectively to staff and parents.
  • Day-to-day support: Assist with classroom preparation, extracurricular activities, and supervision during breaks and outings.
