Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Advanced Specialist Pharmacist - HIV (Band 8a) to lead and deliver a highly specialist HIV pharmacy service across outpatient and inpatient settings. The post holder will provide expert pharmaceutical care for patients with HIV, supporting safe antiretroviral therapy and contributing to service development within a large Pharmacy Department.

One day per week is allocated to general pharmacy activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a specialist HIV clinical pharmacy service.
• Provide ART advice including complex regimens and interactions.
• Deliver clinic-based services with adherence support and counselling.
• Contribute to outpatient and inpatient services in HIV.
• Be a key MDT member in discussion and planning.
• Provide HIV medicines advice to colleagues and ward teams.
• Support general pharmacy activities one day per week.
• Support education and training for pharmacy staff and MDT.
