Job summary

Apex M&E Solutions Ltd is helping a leading national provider of sustainable heating and energy solutions recruit a HIU Engineer. You will install, commission, and maintain HIU systems across new-build residential developments, with training provided to work on HIU equipment.

You will diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance, and handle a mix of installations and fault finding. The role offers strong earnings potential with travel benefits and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• NVQ level or equivalent in engineering/plumbing.
• Technical background in building services engineering is preferred.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and resolving HIU service faults and renewal works.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on HIU systems.
• Installing and commissioning HIU systems on new-build residential sites.
• Providing high standard of customer service and technical expertise.
• Working safely and maintaining health & safety standards.
• Participating in the emergency on-call rota.

Overview

We are currently recruiting for a HIU Engineer on behalf of a leading national provider of sustainable heating and energy solutions. With over 35 years of industry experience and hundreds of employees across the UK, this is an exciting opportunity to join a company at the forefront of the UK’s transition towards more efficient heating solutions.

The business specialises in the design, installation, maintenance and management of plant rooms and heat networks, working with major organisations including local authorities, universities, housing associations, private landlords and energy suppliers.

As the HIU Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring HIU systems are installed, commissioned and maintained to the highest standards across new-build residential developments. The company will provide HIU training so you are qualified to work on them.

You’ll be carrying out a mixture of fault finding, repairs, planned maintenance, installations and commissioning, making this a varied role with plenty of opportunity to develop your technical skills.

This is more than just a basic salary package. The company offers an excellent earning opportunity with a range of additional benefits:

• Competitive salary of £44k per annum. With the door to door travel they expect engineers to earn in the region of £52k plus overtime, bonus, money from call out etc.
• Overtime paid at an impressive 1.66x rate

• £270 per week for participating in the emergency call-out rota
• Additional payment for call-outs, paid from receiving the call through to arriving home

With paid door-to-door travel, overtime, bonus payments and call-out earnings on top of the basic salary, engineers have the potential to significantly increase their overall earnings.
