Job summary

Vector Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a proactive HIU & Plantroom Engineer to cover London and the South on client sites. You will service, maintain, fault-find, and repair HIUs, including Danfoss, SAV, and Evinox, and take technical ownership of communal heat networks.

The role offers £42,000-£46,000 per annum, a fully expensed company van with personal use, fuel card, and on-call enhancements, plus training and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating required.
• G3 Unvented Hot Water cert held or ongoing.
• Knowledge of CP1 Heat Networks Code of Practice and Heat Trust standards.
• Experience with HIU servicing, commissioning and plantroom fault-finding.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, fault-find, and repair HIUs across key manufacturers.
• Commission and set up HIU installations including flushing and balancing.
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on commercial plantrooms and control systems.
• Log digital service records via mobile job management software.

Salary: £42,000 - £46,000 per annum + company van (personal use permitted), fuel card, overtime, and on-call allowance

A Leading Specialist is expanding its operations and seeking a highly skilled HIU & Plantroom Engineer to cover London and the South. This is a pivotal role offering the chance to take full technical ownership of communal heat networks across residential, student accommodation, and commercial portfolios, optimising network efficiency and plantroom lifecycle performance.

The Opportunity:

• Servicing, maintaining, fault-finding, and repairing heat interface units (HIUs) across key manufacturers (including Danfoss, SAV, and Evinox), covering plate heat exchangers, actuators, control valves, and heat meters.
• Commissioning and setting up new and replacement HIU installations, including system flushing, hydraulic balancing, and return-temperature optimisation.
• Executing planned and reactive maintenance across commercial plantrooms, servicing pumps, pressurisation units, buffer vessels, expansion vessels, and associated control systems.
• Diagnosing network distribution issues - such as bypass faults, high return temperatures, and low flow rates - while logging accurate digital compliance records and service sheets via mobile job management software.

The Package:

• £42,000 - £46,000 basic salary, fully expensed company van with personal use allowance, fuel card, specialist tooling, PPE, and on-call/overtime enhancements.

Technical Essentials:

• Mandatory: NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent recognized trade qualification); G3 Unvented Hot Water certificate held or committed to completing funded certification.
• Compliance/Systems: Strong working knowledge of CP1 (Heat Networks Code of Practice), Heat Trust standards, and G3 compliance frameworks; proficient with mobile CAFM/reporting applications. (WRAS, Legionella awareness, or TMV servicing certifications advantageous).
• Experience: Proven field track record in commercial plantroom servicing, hydraulic wet heating systems, heating controls, and direct HIU diagnostic/repair work.
• Mobility: Full UK Driving Licence with flexibility for mobile regional coverage across London and the South and inclusion on an out-of-hours on-call rota.
