A leading independent all-girls school in Wokingham is seeking a passionate and intellectually engaging History Teacher to join its outstanding Humanities Faculty from September 2025.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach History across Key Stages 3 5, including GCSE and A-Level

  • Create intellectually stimulating lessons that encourage debate, analysis, and research

  • Help pupils develop their essay-writing, critical thinking, and source evaluation skills

  • Play an active role in the co-curricular life of the department, such as running clubs, organising historical visits, and mentoring independent projects

  • Contribute to a warm, collaborative staff culture focused on pastoral care and academic support

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a talented and committed educator who:

  • Holds a degree in History or a closely related subject

  • Possesses a teaching qualification with QTS (e.g. PGCE)

  • Has experience teaching History from KS3 to KS5, ideally in a high-achieving or independent school setting

  • Demonstrates a passion for empowering girls through the study of History

  • Brings creativity and intellectual rigour to the classroom

  • Is eager to contribute to whole-school life and pastoral development
