Job summary

Supply Desk are supporting a well-established secondary school in Southampton in their search for a dedicated History Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time position teaching History across KS3 and KS4, with the role expected to continue until July 2027.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging History lessons, monitoring student progress, and inspiring students to develop a deeper understanding of historical events,

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of History as a subject.
  • Experience teaching History at secondary level is preferred.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver History lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities department.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support departmental success.
  • Support the wider life of the school.

Salary: £175 - £260 per day (dependent on experience)

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Job Description

Supply Desk are supporting a well-established secondary school in Southampton in their search for a dedicated History Teacher to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a full-time position teaching History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the role expected to continue until July 2027. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging History lessons, monitoring student progress, and inspiring students to develop a deeper understanding of historical events, interpretations, and their relevance to the modern world.
