Job summary

Supply Desk are supporting a well-established secondary school in Southampton in their search for a dedicated History Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. The role is a full-time position teaching History across KS3 and KS4, with a long-term contract until July 2027.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging History lessons, monitor student progress and inspire students to understand historical events and their relevance today.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification required.
• Strong subject knowledge in History.
• Experience teaching History at secondary level.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing.
• Ability to engage students of varying abilities and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
• Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities department.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support departmental success.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
