Job summary

TeacherActive are supporting a well-established secondary school in Manchester's Longsight region to recruit a passionate History Teacher from September. You will teach History to KS3/4, plan engaging lessons, assess progress, and contribute to the Humanities team. A QTS or equivalent is required, with DBS compliance and safeguarding commitment.

Are you a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher looking for your next opportunity in a supportive secondary school? We are working with a well-established school in Longsight seeking an enthusiastic History specialist to join their team from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students with a love of history, encouraging them to explore the past while developing critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.

The Role

Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential).

Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that inspire and challenge students.

Assess, monitor, and support student progress to help all learners achieve their potential.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and academic success.

Contribute to the wider life of the school and the Humanities department.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

Experience teaching History within a UK secondary school.

Strong classroom management skills and excellent subject knowledge.

A passion for education and a commitment to raising student attainment.

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
