Job summary

Silverways School, part of Kedleston Group, is seeking a passionate History Teacher to inspire pupils with SEND and ASC needs at our Enfield campus.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, monitor progress, and collaborate with colleagues, parents and the wider school community to support every child’s educational and personal growth.

Candidates should have QTS and a teaching degree, experience in SEND, and a commitment to professional development in innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications

  • A teaching degree or equivalent and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A qualification in SEND education is desirable.
  • Experience of working with children with SEND and ASC is ideal but applications from those working in mainstream settings are very welcome.
  • Experience in teaching History.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching methods.

Silverways School is an independent special school which supports children and young people with autism and associated learning needs. The school is set in the heart of the community in Enfield, North London.

The focus at Silverways School is on maximising every child’s potential to develop into a confident, resilient, and skilled young person who will make a positive contribution to society and live as independent a life as possible.

Silverways School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
