Job summary

Education Personnel are partnering with a progressive Derby secondary school to recruit a dedicated History Teacher for an immediate start or January 2027. The role will support KS3 and KS4 students, with potential KS5 teaching for experienced candidates, contributing to a vibrant Humanities department.

The successful candidate will hold QTS, have at least six months' UK classroom experience, and bring strong behaviour management and collaborative teamworking skills to daily lessons,

Qualifications

• QTS is required to teach in a UK secondary setting.
• Minimum 6 months' classroom teaching experience in a UK secondary school.
• Able to teach KS3 and KS4; History KS5 optional if experienced.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the KS3 & KS4 History curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced in Derby
• Plan, prepare, and assess History lessons in line with department policy
• Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions for source analysis and essay skills
• Contribute to History department improvement planning
• Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents' evenings as required

Pay Rate: £130-£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
