Job summary

Royal Hospital Chelsea is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for Chelsea Pensioners, staff and visitors. You will be part of the Facilities team, reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, delivering essential cleaning across the historic main site and helping preserve the surroundings that make the site special.

Qualifications

• Flexible, practical approach to work and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good written and spoken English communication with colleagues, residents and visitors.
• NVQ Level 2 in Support Services in Health Care and qualifications in food handling and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and deep cleaning across residents’ accommodation, bathrooms, communal areas, offices and event spaces, including heritage woodwork, brass and furnishings.
• Make beds, exchange linen and bedding, collect laundry and prepare vacated accommodation for new occupants.
• Report faults, damage, incidents or safeguarding concerns promptly to ensure resident safety.
