Job summary

Winchester College invites applications for a Painter & Decorator to start as soon as possible. You will join an in-house multi‑disciplined maintenance team responsible for a varied building stock, from chapels to laboratories, with supervision by a Works Project Manager.

The post is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with safeguarding responsibilities and a DBS check. Salary is £32,824 (gross) per year, with pension, annual leave, and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings or specifications.
• Good colour vision and attention to detail.
• Competent in wallpapering and specialist finishes (e.g., glossing, spraying, textured coatings).
• Be able to work unsupervised as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all aspects of painting and decorating work on refurbishment projects.
• Carry out cyclical maintenance and day-to-day reactive works.
• Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and with attention to detail.
