Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist for the Histopathology Department at the Sutton site. The role covers clinical analytical work, specimen processing, and advanced diagnostic techniques in a dynamic diagnostic service for local and international clinicians.

HCPC registration and IBMS Specialist Portfolio (or equivalent) are required. The post holder may deputise for a Section Manager when needed and will work in a team focused on high-quality

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• IBMS Specialist Portfolio or equivalent experience is expected.
• Maintain high standards and follow SOPs to produce accurate diagnostic results.

Responsibilities

• Specimen processing and preparation.
• Data entry of requests.
• Equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Liaise with surgeons and clinical staff as needed.
• Perform section cutting and staining.
• Assist with specialised diagnostic techniques (IHC and ISH).
• Train or supervise new staff as required.
