Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Histology to join York Hospital. You will process and embed tissue samples, perform microtomy and staining, and support pathologists in diagnostic reporting.

NHS experience is essential, and HCPC registration is required. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of specimen handling

We are currently seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Histology to join our client’s team in York. This is a full-time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established laboratory service.

Key Responsibilities

You will process and embed tissue samples, perform microtomy, and stain slides for microscopic examination. You will support pathologists in diagnostic reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

- HCPC registration

- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent

- Experience in Histology within a clinical laboratory

- Experience with microtomy and staining techniques

- Strong attention to detail

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

- NHS experience (required)
