Job summary

NHS Professionals is seeking a Biomedical Scientist for Histopathology at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. You will examine pathological samples with diverse technologies and ensure accurate results are reported to support patient care. You may work across QMC and NCH depending on service needs.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.
• Relevant Biomedical Science qualification.
• Experience in Histopathology.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality control procedures.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Carry out laboratory analyses under the direction of senior Biomedical Scientist staff, ensuring results are reported accurately and appropriately documented.
• Participate in departmental rosters and adapt duties to operational requirements of the laboratory.
• Perform quality control procedures and review results to identify issues and take corrective action.
• Assist in operation and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and report faults.
• Maintain laboratory supplies by monitoring and replenishing consumables and equipment; organise work efficiently.
• Ensure competent use of computerised data management systems and comply with policies, SOPs, safety and data protection.
