Job summary

Pulse Healthcare Limited invites applications for a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Histology to join the team at Calderdale Royal Hospital. The role is full-time, ongoing with core hours, offering a competitive hourly rate.

You will process and embed tissue samples, perform microtomy and stain slides for microscopic examination, and support pathologists in diagnostic reporting. HCPC registration and a Biomedical Science degree are required; NHS experience is preferred.

We are currently seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Histology to join our client’s team in the Calderdale Royal Hospital. This is a full-time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established laboratory service.

Key Responsibilities

You will process and embed tissue samples, perform microtomy, and stain slides for microscopic examination. You will support pathologists in diagnostic reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

• - HCPC registration
• - Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent
• - Experience in Histology within a clinical laboratory
• - Experience with microtomy and staining techniques
• - Strong attention to detail
• - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• - NHS experience (preferred)
