Job summary

GAP Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a capable Welfare division Manager to lead the day-to-day Hire Desk and Transport operation. You will manage a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers, drive revenue growth, and ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused service.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a hire desk, transport operation, or similar customer-facing team.
• Strong people management and coaching skills with the ability to develop and motivate others.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
• Outstanding communication skills with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities within an operational environment.
• Experience in the plant hire industry is advantageous, or similar operational backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of the Hire Desk and Transport function.
• Motivating, coaching, and developing a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers.
• Driving revenue growth through proactive promotion of consumables, accessories, and additional hire opportunities.
• Monitoring transport performance to ensure deliveries and collections are completed on time.
• Ensuring the accurate processing of hires, off-hires, exchanges, and transport activities.
• Resolving customer queries, hire issues, and administrative discrepancies efficiently.
• Working closely with operational teams to maximise equipment availability.
