Job summary

Murphy Plant is seeking a Hire Coordinator to source and manage plant hire across UK projects. You will coordinate internal and external equipment, ensure best value, and maintain records.

You will liaise with depot managers and the supply chain, deliver equipment nationwide, and uphold Murphy values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Hire Desk role would be desirable.
• Experience using Syrinx is preferred.
• Previous experience working in an office environment with some experienceworking in a customer facing role
• Extensive experience working through telephone communications with a clear and concise phone manner.
• Good IT skills, knowledge of Microsoft packages ie. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Previous experience in plant would be beneficial but not essential
• Previous experience managing and processing invoices would be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Ensure that best endeavours are made to deliver the right equipment, true to specification requirements, at the right quality on the date that the customer requires.
• Responsible for Procurement of externally sourced plant and equipment, delivering best in class for quality and value
• Ensuring maximum utilisation of Murphy plant & equipment by monitoring and off hiring externally hired items when murphy plant items become available
• Liaise regularly with external supply chain, build and keep positive relationships and ensure best Quality, Performance and Delivery is achieved
• Provide high quality customer service in all communications with internal and external clients.
• Maintain accurate paper and computer-based records.
• Produce correspondence, documents and presentations to specification using a variety of media.
• Maintain established paper and computer-based filing systems.
• Conduct financial duties, for example, processing invoices or tracking costs.
• Work in accordance with established processes and provide feedback on their effectiveness.
• Maintain a world-class standard of customer service ensuring that the customer is always at the forefront of the teams’ actions.

Job description

Murphy is recruiting for a Hire Coordinator to work with Murphy Plant at Golborne Plant Depot.

Murphy Plant is committed to delivering a plant hire service that is simple, safe, efficient and reliable.

We manage and maintain more than £100 million worth of innovative, best in-class plant, transport and specialist equipment and our work spans multiple sectors. Our inventory includes over 15,000 assets, ranging from small tools to piling rigs, alongside our award-winning vehicle fleet which includes one of the UK’s most comprehensive collection of crawler cranes. Our broad range of equipment also includes specialist assets for ground engineering, pipeline testing, tunnelling, rail and more.

You will be responsible for sourcing internal plant equipment on behalf of all projects, or procurement of externally sourced plant and equipment delivering best in class for quality and value. Ensuring maximum utilisation of Murphy Plant and equipment by monitoring externally hired items and exchanging for internal items when they become available. Liaise with external supply chain, maintenance teams and depot managers,build and keep positive relationships and ensure Performance, Quality and Delivery is achievedAs Hire Coordinator you will manage the hire of Murphy Plant Equipment. Delivering equipment across the UK, you will be responsible for accurate management and documentation of the hire process. The logistical management of this equipment spread across 6 depots and up to 40 different sites is a challenge!

A day in the life of a Murphy Hire Coordinator
