Job summary

Cumberland Council is seeking a capable Highways Team Leader to supervise a small team of up to five operatives in Cumbria. You will oversee patching, drainage works, bridge maintenance and traffic management while ensuring safety, quality and performance on site.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, strong highway materials knowledge, and certification in abrasive wheels; NVQs in Highway Maintenance or Team Leadership and relevant tickets are desirable for career progression within the

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Strong knowledge of highway materials and maintenance processes.
• Certification in abrasive wheels and experience with plant and equipment is essential.
• Desirable qualifications include NVQs in Highway Maintenance or Team Leadership; tickets CSCS, HIAB and NRSWA.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and organise a team of up to five operatives on highway maintenance tasks.
• Oversee patching, drainage works, bridge maintenance and traffic management.
