Job summary

Richmond & Wandsworth Better Service Partnership is seeking a Highways Supervisor to lead the highways section, supervise staff and contractors, and ensure safe, efficient delivery of road maintenance across the borough.

The role focuses on day-to-day management, performance monitoring, and liaising with external organisations to address resident queries while promoting a high standard of service.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence and NRSWA supervisory level required.
• Winter gritting supervisory level or ability to obtain within 6 months of starting role.
• Experience in effective control and discipline of the workforce and enforcing codes of conduct.
• Experience in managing and developing staff for high productivity and service standards.
• Strong communication and report writing skills using IT tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operatives, agency staff and contractors on highway works.
• Oversee routine and non-routine maintenance and installations to required standards.
• Authorize expenditure, purchase orders and resource requirements within delegated limits.
