Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Site Supervisor to join our Operations team in the East region. You will oversee major maintenance and minor improvement schemes, perform surveillance and assurance inspections, and verify quality of works by external contractors.

The role requires travel to sites across the region, a valid CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS, and the ability to drive. Residence within one hour of Bedford, Cambridge or Ipswich is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven highway/structures and maintenance/construction experience.
• Understanding of DMRB, MCHW, Chapter 8 and CDM Regulations.
• CSCS Card Holder, SSSTS or SMSTS essential.
• Able to work independently and with a team, responsive to guidance.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assure completion of planned works to standards and raise concerns to CAM.
• Ensure works comply with CDM, HSE, and environmental legislation.
• Provide regular progress feedback to Project Managers and escalate on-site issues.
• Coordinate delivery programme with supply chain partners and perform buildability reviews.
• Represent National Highways on site and ensure supplier performance.
