Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee major maintenance and minor improvement schemes across the East region. You will conduct construction surveillance and assurance inspections to verify contractor works meet required standards.

The role involves travel to sites, possible evening/night shifts, and paid overtime or out-of-hours allowances in addition to base salary. A valid CSCS/SMS/SSSTS credential and ability to drive are required.

Qualifications

• Proven highway/structures and maintenance experience on trunk road/motorway networks.
• Good understanding of DMRB, MCHW, Chapter 8 and CDM regulations.
• CSCS Card holder with SSSTS or SMSTS certification must have.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with guidance.
• Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assure completion of planned works to agreed standards and escalate to CAM as needed.
• Ensure works comply with CDM, HSE, Environmental legislation and Chapter 8 duties.
• Provide regular feedback on scheme progress, risks, and design-related issues.
• Coordinate delivery programme with key supply chain partners and conduct buildability reviews.
• Represent National Highways on site, monitor supplier performance and resolve on-site issues.
