Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Site Supervisor for the Midlands region to oversee major maintenance and minor improvement schemes. The role involves surveillance, quality checks, and ensuring contractor works meet standards, with travel across the region and regular escalation to the Construction Assurance Manager.

The position requires CSCS and SSSTS/SMSTS, with flexibility for evenings/nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Highway/structures and maintenance/construction experience.
• Knowledge of DMRB, MCHW, Chapter 8 and CDM Regulations.
• CSCS Card Holder, SSSTS or SMSTS Certificate.
• Ability to work independently yet within a team.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assure completion of planned works to agreed standards and escalate concerns as needed.
• Ensure works comply with CDM Regulations, HSE, environmental legislation and Chapter 8 requirements.
• Provide regular feedback to Project Managers on progress, risks and on-site issues.
• Coordinate delivery programme with supply chain partners and perform buildability reviews.
• Represent National Highways on site and escalate concerns to CAM or Construction Manager as required.
