Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee highway maintenance, improvements and infrastructure projects across the local authority network. You will ensure work is safe, compliant, on programme and to specification, liaising with contractors, residents and client representatives.

The role involves supervising on-site activities, applying NEC4 terms, and coordinating with project managers and design teams to deliver high-quality outcomes across Buckinghamshire.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising highways maintenance or civil projects.
• Knowledge of NEC4 contracts.
• Understanding of CDM regulations and health and safety.
• Experience managing contractors on live highway networks.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and programmes.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily highway construction and maintenance activities on-site.
• Monitor contractor performance against programme, quality and safety requirements.
• Ensure works meet designs, permits and method statements.
• Undertake regular site inspections and audits.
• Identify and address construction issues, risks, and non-conformances.
• Verify completed works and support handover processes.
