Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead highways and transport infrastructure projects from inception to completion, delivering safe, timely and value-for-money outcomes for Buckinghamshire communities.

You will develop plans, manage budgets, support procurement and liaise with residents, consultants and contractors, ensuring governance, health and safety and regulatory compliance across all schemes.

Qualifications

• Experience of working on highways, transport or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
• Understanding of highways and transport infrastructure development processes.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and health and safety requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience of contract, budget or procurement activities would be advantageous.
• Educated to degree level and hold a project management qualification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing highways and transport infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
• Developing detailed project plans, programmes, budgets and resource requirements.
• Supporting procurement activities including preparation of scopes, invitations to tender and evaluation of submissions.
• Assisting with contract administration and maintaining strong working relationships with consultants, contractors and suppliers.
• Conducting research and analysis to support project development and informed decision-making.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Council policies, quality standards and health and safety requirements.
• Engaging proactively with local communities, residents, businesses and stakeholders throughout project development and delivery.
