Job summary

Carrington West is recruiting an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee highway term maintenance works in Bedfordshire on a 6-month contract. The role focuses on coordinating site activities, supervising operatives and subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely and to the required standards.

The ideal candidate will hold SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid certificates, possess a full UK driving licence and have a proven track record in highways or civil engineering supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising highway maintenance or civil works.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and practices.
• Good communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to coordinate multiple site activities to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day highway maintenance operations.
• Coordinate operatives, subcontractors, plant and materials.
• Ensure work complies with safety legislation and method statements.
• Maintain site records, diaries and safety documentation.
• Monitor progress against programme and report delays.
• Ensure works meet quality standards and contract specs.
• Interface with project managers and clients to support delivery.
• Address site issues and escalate when needed.
