Job summary

Carrington West in Penrith seeks an experienced Site Agent to lead day-to-day delivery of highways works on a major civil engineering project. You will manage site teams, subcontractors and interfaces with the Project Manager to meet programme milestones.

The role requires strong knowledge of highways delivery, NEC contracts, SMSTS, and excellent communication & team management skills. Permanent position based in Penrith with long-term involvement in a flagship infrastructure scheme.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Site Agent or in a similar site management position on highways or major civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of highways construction and site delivery.
• Experience working with NEC contracts.
• SMSTS and relevant site qualifications.
• Strong communication, organisation and team management skills.
• The ability to manage multiple site activities and priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day delivery of highways and civil engineering works on site
• Coordinating engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and site teams
• Monitoring programme progress and helping ensure key project milestones are achieved
• Ensuring works are completed safely and to the required quality standards
• Managing site documentation, reporting and project records
• Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team
• Liaising with the client and other project stakeholders
• Supporting the commercial and contractual management of the project, including NEC requirements
• Identifying and resolving site issues to keep works progressing effectively

Are you an experienced Site Agent looking to take responsibility for the successful delivery of a major highways project?

My client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is delivering a significant package of works on a nationally important highways scheme in Penrith. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major infrastructure project with long-term secured work and take ownership of day-to-day site delivery.

As Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing site operations, coordinating site teams and subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.

You will be:
