Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Site Agent to oversee major highways and infrastructure projects across the UK from its Bedfordshire base. The role involves taking full ownership of day-to-day site management, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and budget adherence, with lodging away during the week covered.

Ideal candidates bring proven Highway/Infrastructure site experience, knowledge of DMRB/HSE, and strong leadership to coordinate multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Agent or Senior Site Agent in highways or major infrastructure.
• In-depth knowledge of Highways England (DMRB) specifications and HSE legislation.
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities to manage multiple teams.
• Experience with RAMS, ITPs, site diaries, progress reports, and programmes.
• Ability to liaise with clients, project managers, engineers, and local authorities.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of day-to-day site management on major highways schemes.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to specification.
• Lead and motivate site teams and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
• Manage and review RAMS, ITPs, site diaries, progress reports, and programme updates.
• Liaise closely with clients, project managers, engineers, and local authorities.
• Drive Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance to the highest standard.
• Coordinate resources, materials, and logistics efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Support project planning, forecasting, and risk management activities.

Site Agent Major Highways

Location: Bedfordshire
Salary: £60,000-£65,000 + Company Vehicle / Car Allowance + Package

We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to oversee the successful delivery of major highways and infrastructure schemes across the UK. The ideal candidate will come from a Highways England (National Highways) or large-scale civil engineering background and be confident managing complex, fast-paced projects from start to finish. This role requires someone willing to lodge away during the week, with all accommodation and travel expenses covered.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of day-to-day site management on major highways schemes.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to specification.
• Lead and motivate site teams and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
• Manage and review RAMS, ITPs, site diaries, progress reports, and programme updates.

Requirements

• Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and priorities.
• Competent in Microsoft Office, site documentation, and project reporting tools.
• Relevant qualifications including:
• CSCS (Black or Gold Card)
• SMSTS
• First Aid at Work
• (NRSWA or Temporary Works Coordinator desirable)
