Job summary

Caval Limited seeks an Experienced Health & Safety Manager for highways projects in Manchester. You will ensure compliance with H&S regulations, lead safety inspections, and provide staff training to prevent accidents on site.

Candidates should hold a health & safety qualification (Masters, Bachelor's, NVQ or NEBOSH) and may have IOSH membership. You will help develop policies, conduct risk assessments, and manage emergency procedures to maintain a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Relevant Health & Safety degree or professional qualification.
• Experience in highways and civil engineering health and safety.
• Experience as Health & Safety Manager or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Regularly conduct safety inspections, adhering to safety standards.
• Offer staff training on health and safety procedures and regulations.
• Monitor workplace conditions and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide guidance to management, employees, and contractors.
• Update safety records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Establish health and safety policies per laws and regulations.
• Lead safety meetings and address concerns professionally.
• Identify opportunities to improve health and safety performance.
• Examine accidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrences.
• Perform workplace risk assessments and minimize risks.
• Oversee compliance with health and safety laws and company policies.
• Create and execute emergency response plans and drills.
• Continuously update safety programs to address emerging risks.
