Job summary

Randstad CPE in East Sussex is seeking a Highways Projects Supervisor to lead site-based highway maintenance and improvement works from planning through to completion. You will coordinate teams and subcontractors, ensure safe practices, maintain records, and liaise with clients and stakeholders to deliver projects on programme and to quality standards.

The role is primarily Monday to Friday, 8.5 hours per day, with some nights paid at a premium.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising site teams in highways, civils, or infrastructure.
• SSSTS or SMSTS and a valid CSCS card.
• NRSWA Supervisor accreditation for street works.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to Zero Harm.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead site teams in delivering highway maintenance and improvement schemes.
• Ensure operatives and subcontractors are briefed with clear task instructions and risk controls.
• Maintain daily site records, progress updates, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
• Identify site constraints and address defects to maintain right-first-time delivery.

Are you a dedicated professional with a passion for infrastructure and safety? We are actively seeking a talented Highways Projects Supervisor to join our clients dynamic team in East Sussex. Role Overview

As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating highways project works from planning through to completion. You will provide essential site-based leadership, setting teams and subcontractors to work safely while ensuring projects are delivered to programme and meet our high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead site teams in delivering highway maintenance and improvement schemes, including surfacing, drainage, and paving.
• Ensure all operatives and subcontractors are set to work safely with clear task briefings and robust risk controls.
• Maintain daily site records, progress updates, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and the public, to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Identify and manage site constraints, ensuring defects are addressed promptly to maintain "right-first-time" delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in supervising site teams within highways, civils, or infrastructure environments.
• Relevant supervisory qualifications (such as SSSTS or SMSTS) and a valid CSCS card.
• NRSWA Supervisor accreditation for street works.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to Zero Harm and inclusive team working.
• Full UK driving licence.
