Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a dedicated Highways Projects Supervisor in East Sussex. You will supervise and coordinate highways works from planning to completion, providing site leadership and ensuring work is safe, on programme and meets quality standards.

Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance schemes, managing site teams and subcontractors, and ensuring robust risk controls. Requires SSSTS/SMSTS, NRSWA supervisor accreditation, CSCS, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising site teams on highways, civils or infrastructure.
• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification and CSCS card are required.
• NRSWA Supervisor accreditation is required.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead site teams delivering highway maintenance and improvement schemes (surfacing, drainage, paving).
• Ensure operatives and subcontractors work safely with clear briefings and risk controls.
• Maintain daily site records, progress updates and project documentation.

Are you a dedicated professional with a passion for infrastructure and safety? We are actively seeking a talented Highways Projects Supervisor to join our client's dynamic team in East Sussex. This is a high-priority recruitment, and we are looking to expedite the hiring process to get the right person on board as soon as possible.

Role Overview

As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating highways project works from planning through to completion. You will provide essential site-based leadership, setting teams and subcontractors to work safely while ensuring projects are delivered to programme and meet our high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead site teams in delivering highway maintenance and improvement schemes, including surfacing, drainage, and paving.
• Ensure all operatives and subcontractors are set to work safely with clear task briefings and robust risk controls.
• Maintain daily site records, progress updates, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and the public, to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Identify and manage site constraints, ensuring defects are addressed promptly to maintain "right-first-time" delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in supervising site teams within highways, civils, or infrastructure environments.
• Relevant supervisory qualifications (such as SSSTS or SMSTS) and a valid CSCS card.
• NRSWA Supervisor accreditation for street works.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to Zero Harm and inclusive team working.
• Full UK driving licence.
