Job summary

BakerHicks is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex highways projects, from award through to completion, ensuring scope, programme, budget, risk, and resources are expertly managed. You will provide technical oversight of highways design and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safely, on time and to a high standard.

Applicants should have a Civil Engineering degree, Chartered status or equivalent, and proven PM experience in highways.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng), APM, PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent desirable.
• Strong project management experience is essential.
• A proven background in highways design is essential.
• Strong understanding of highways standards including DMRB, MCHW, and CDM Regulations.
• Strong commercial awareness and contract management capability.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead highways projects through the full project lifecycle, from planning to delivery and close-out.
• Manage project scope, programme, budgets, risks, and resource planning.
• Provide informed oversight of highways design to ensure technical quality and buildability.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Monitor commercial performance, change control, and contractual obligations.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Build strong client relationships and provide clear reporting and governance.
