Job summary

Carrington West is recruiting a Permitting Coordinator in Nottingham to join a highways and infrastructure provider on a permanent basis. The role offers hybrid working and clear opportunities for progression within the Project Services team.

You will lead TRO consultations, engage stakeholders, review schemes against standards, and support delivery with Construction and Commercial teams while maintaining health, safety and LGPS commitments.

Qualifications

• HNC/NVQ Level 4 in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in highways/traffic design.
• Confident using CAD software and specialist design/data management systems.
• Strong knowledge of TROs, signage, road markings and design standards.
• Understanding of TRO legislation, processes and statutory requirements.
• Knowledge of health, safety, traffic management, and highway engineering legislation.
• Experience writing reports and liaising with clients and stakeholders.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of highway improvement schemes within quality, budget and programme constraints.
• Manage TRO consultations, ensure legal compliance and stakeholder engagement.
• Investigate TRO objections and inquiries, provide balanced recommendations.
• Advise on traffic orders, highway signage and road markings.
• Review externally designed traffic/highway schemes against design and safety standards.
• Collaborate with Construction and Commercial teams to support delivery.
• Maintain high health, safety and environmental compliance across activities.
