Job summary

The Company A dynamic Main Contractor in the Cambridge region is seeking a Senior/Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery on major schemes valued up to £85m. You will mentor a team of QSs, oversee procurement, valuations, and variations while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and clients.

Responsibilities include pricing, commercial reporting, contract document review, and ensuring financial controls across projects.

Qualifications

Experience leading a team of QS professionals across major schemes.
Strong grasp of sub-contractor procurement, valuations and variations.
Ability to bridge hands-on delivery with strategic management.

Responsibilities

Assisting with the pricing of some of the region's larger schemes.
Managing the commercial reporting of other, smaller schemes across the region.
Managing and mentoring a team of QSs at various levels.
Issuing and commercial management of sub-contract tender packages.
Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
Reviewing of contract documents.
Managing and maintaining relationships with an established list of supply chain sub-contractors.
Attending internal and external commercial review meetings.
Aiding with submission of client valuations and management of the variation account.
Management of subcontract accounts from procurement to final account.
Preparation and assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works.
