Job summary

The Company A dynamic Main Contractor in the Cambridge region is seeking a Senior/Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery on major schemes valued up to £85m. You will mentor a team of QSs, oversee procurement, valuations, and variations while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and clients.

Responsibilities include pricing, commercial reporting, contract document review, and ensuring financial controls across projects.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of QS professionals across major schemes.
• Strong grasp of sub-contractor procurement, valuations and variations.
• Ability to bridge hands-on delivery with strategic management.

• Preparation and assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works.

The company put relationships at the heart of everything that they do. This is reflected in the fact that they have used many of the same sub-contractors since their early days as a contractor and also enjoy an incredibly high level of repeat business with clients that they have built solid professional relationships with.

The Role

About You

• Exposure in Highways would be highly advantageous
• Experience of, or clear readiness for, managing a team of QSs.
• Comfortable balancing hands-on commercial delivery on major schemes with oversight of a wider team and portfolio.
• Candidates currently operating as a Senior QS and ready to make the step up to Managing QS level are encouraged to apply.
