Job summary

A leading construction firm is seeking a Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor for a highways project in Birmingham. You will be responsible for leading all commercial aspects, ensuring financial performance, and managing subcontractor procurement. The ideal candidate must have proven experience in civil engineering projects, strong skills in NEC contracts, and a degree in Quantity Surveying. Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor – Highways project

Location: Rotherham / Wolverhampton / Birmingham (role will involve some travel)

About the Role

Taylor Woodrow are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to take a new highways scheme in Birmingham / Dudley from pre construction through to delivery.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering a critical infrastructure project, ensuring commercial success and compliance throughout the lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all commercial aspects of the project, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and management.
  • Ensure accurate valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Provide strategic input on risk management and value engineering.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to maintain financial performance and contractual compliance.
Key Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
