Amey is recruiting for a Highways Maintenance Operative at Westhoughton Depot, North West England. You will join Area 10 Strategic Highways, carrying out routine maintenance, traffic management setup, and winter/emergency operations to keep the road network safe.

The role requires an HGV Class C license, Driver CPC, CSCS, and a proactive approach to safety. Benefits and pension are highlighted in the package.

Formación

• HGV Class C / Class 2 Driving Licence is essential.
• Driver CPC qualification with 35 hours completed.
• Appropriate CSCS Card is essential.
• Personal Highways Passport is essential.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
• Commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
• Traffic Management experience would be advantageous.
• Vehicle Restraint System (VRS) repair experience is advantageous.
• Experience in highways maintenance or similar operational environment is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out routine and cyclic highway maintenance activities.
• Support minor civil engineering works and general highway upkeep.
• Install and remove temporary traffic management systems.
• Undertake winter maintenance operations and emergency response duties.
• Drive and operate vehicles and plant equipment, with daily vehicle checks.
• Conduct litter and environmental maintenance across the network.
• Record driver hours and complete defect reporting documentation.
• Capture time and resource utilisation in allocation systems.
• Attend work briefings and maintain high technical/operational standards.
• Communicate with colleagues, subcontractors, clients, emergency services and the public.
• Maintain personal and team safety and comply with health, safety and environmental requirements.
