Job summary

Amey is seeking a Highways Maintenance Operative to join the Area 12 Incident Response Team in Malton. You’ll help maintain and improve the strategic road network, keeping road users safe and delivering a high-quality service for our client.

The role features a 4 on 4 off pattern averaging 40 hours per week, with standby and winter maintenance rotas. You’ll work alongside colleagues, subcontractors and client representatives to deliver safe and efficient highway works.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways, construction, utilities, civil engineering or maintenance.
• Committed to health, safety and wellbeing.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine, reactive and emergency highway maintenance across Area 12.
• Carry out safety fencing, drainage, vegetation and sign maintenance.
• Support emergency response and make safe highway defects.
• Assist winter maintenance incl. gritting and snow clearance.
• Install and remove temporary traffic management.
• Operate plant, vehicles and equipment safely.
• Complete inspections and documentation.
• Adhere to health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
