Job summary

Kier Group plc. in Birmingham invites applications for a Highways Maintenance Operative to support reactive works, emergency response and improvement schemes across the Birmingham network.

You will work with the team day-to-day, respond to incidents within timescales, perform routine maintenance using plant and equipment, operate site machinery, keep accurate records, and maintain customer care. A full driving licence and Streetworks units 1-9 are required.

Qualifications

• Capable of working under pressure within a safety critical role.
• Self-motivated with the confidence to speak to a range of stakeholders.
• Ability to work as a member of a team and with minimal supervision.
• Full driving licence.
• Streetworks qualifications units 1-9.

Responsibilities

• Responding to incidents on the network within designated timescales, liaising with emergency services and ensuring traffic disruption is minimised.
• Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs to the network using plant and equipment.
• Operating a variety of plant and equipment and ensuring site and company equipment is secure at all times.
• Using digital systems to provide accurate records of works carried out on the network.
• Promoting customer care by ensuring the general public and clients are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner.

What will you be responsible for?
