Job summary

Kiwa CMT is hiring a Highways Data Collection Technician to join our field team across the UK. You will perform highway asset surveys, record inventories for lighting, signs and infrastructure, and carry out non-destructive testing of lighting columns with full training provided.

The role requires a Full UK driving licence, the ability to travel and stay away from home, and a proactive approach to health, safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a field-based role such as highway assets, utilities, or infrastructure.
• Full UK driving licence required for site travel.
• Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home.
• Proactive health, safety, and compliance mindset with safe working practices.
• Good planning and organisational skills to deliver on time and to a high standard.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out highway asset data collection surveys, recording inventories of street lighting, signs, bollards, and other infrastructure.
• Verify existing asset inventories or create new records with asset details, locations and component information using handheld data capture and GPS.
• Undertake non-destructive structural testing of lighting columns with full training provided.
• Accurately record and upload survey and testing data to client systems.
• Use and maintain equipment and company vehicles with due care and responsibility.
• Build positive working relationships with clients, colleagues and management.
• Represent Kiwa CMT professionally on customer sites.
• Travel to sites across the UK, including overnight stays where required.
