Job summary

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Electrical Technician on behalf of one of our clients. To maintain the network, install all electrical equipment, street light columns, bollards, signs and feeder pillars, including wiring and lantern components.

This role requires working outdoors, and involves complex fault finding and routine testing. The position operates both day and night shifts—two weeks of days followed by two weeks of nights—with an emergency call-out rota and a strong

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installations and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Requires Full UK driving licence and proven fault-finding/testing ability.
• Experience with street lighting assets and highway electrical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out installation, maintenance and repair of highways electrical assets, including street lighting, signage, feeder pillars and bollards.
• Performing planned cyclic maintenance in line with client requirements and industry standards.
• Undertaking electrical testing, inspection and fault diagnosis across highways and depot facilities.
• Responding to emergency call-outs and reactive works as part of a rota.
• Completing test certification, work records and asset documentation.
• Working in line with health and safety requirements to protect self and public.
• Supporting apprentices and operatives on site.
• Operating vehicles, plant and equipment safely.
• Working outdoors and at height where required.

Location: Hale (Covering Merseyside, Greater Manchester & Cheshire)

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Electrical Technician on behalf of one of our clients.

To maintain the network, install all electrical equipment, street light column, bollards, signs and feeder pillars this includes all associated wiring. Install cables cut outs and lanterns and repairing lanterns with interchangeable electronic components. This role is working both day & night shifts - 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights, also an emergency call-out rota.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carrying out installation, maintenance and repair of highways electrical assets, including street lighting, signage, feeder pillars and bollards.
• Performing planned cyclic maintenance in line with client requirements and industry standards.
• Undertaking electrical testing, inspection and fault diagnosis across highways and depot facilities.
• Supporting depot-based electrical installation and maintenance activities.
• Responding to emergency call-outs and reactive works as part of a rota.
• Completing test certification, work records and asset documentation.
• Working in line with health and safety requirements, ensuring protection of yourself, colleagues and the public.
• Supporting apprentices and operatives on site.
• Operating vehicles, plant and equipment safely.
• Working outdoors and at height where required.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:
