Job summary

Enerveo in Knowsley (Merseyside) are hiring a Highways Electrician to join our team, delivering street lighting and highway electrical solutions across the region. The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, with standard hours from 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am-3:30pm Friday, with optional standby rota and additional payments.

You will maintain and upgrade street lighting, carry out connections and fault fixes, operate MEWP, and work to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualifications including City & Guilds and NVQ L3 or HERs equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification or HERs equivalent is essential for testing work.
• Ability to work in a team and also alone when required.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Experience working at height with MEWP is required.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential as roles cover multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain streetlighting infrastructure including lights, signs, and subways; perform lamp changes and tests.
• Make electrical connections to new street lighting infrastructure.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to street lighting assets.
• Deliver outstanding service to clients and the public.
• Operate a mobile elevated working platform (MEWP).
• Comply with safety guidelines and regulations at all times.

Base Location: Knowsley- (L36)

Salary: From £28,091 to £32,338 depending on skills and experience and working hours - Time Incentive Management (TIM) Bonus Scheme, plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Full Time, 37 hrs/week; Monday - Thursday 8am-4pm and Friday 8am-3:30pm. Participation in the standby rota is optional with additional payments for Standby By and Call Outs

What will I be doing in this role?

This role is for a Highways Electrician/Street Lighting Electrician to join our team. This team is responsible for the ongoing streetlighting works in Merseyside.

In a typical day, you could expect to be;

• Maintaining our streetlighting infrastructure including but not limited to streetlights, signs, and subways including lamp changes, visual inspections, and electrical testing
• Carry out electrical connections to new street lighting infrastructure
• Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs.
• Ensuring we deliver outstanding service to our clients and the general public
• Operating a mobile elevated working platform (MEWP)
• Working to strict safety guidelines and regulations

What do I need to be successful in the role?

• You will have an electrical background, hold the relevant City & Guilds qualification and NVQ L3 or HERs equivalent.
• It is essential to hold the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification or HERs equivalent, as this is required to carry out testing work
• Be able to work as part of a Team and to be able to work alone when job requires
• We work in all weathers! So, you need to be the type of person who is happy working outdoors all year round
• A lot of this role will be working at height, so you need to be comfortable with working in a MEWP above the ground
• We do need you to have a full UK Driving Licence as we cover a wide range of locations

Some of our nice to haves' are;

• We would look for you to hold IPAF/PASMA working at heights training
• City and Guilds 2391 qualification would be a benefit
• Completion of a G39 Electrical Safety in the planning, installation, commissioning and maintenance of public lighting and other street furniture training Course
• An HGV Class 2 Licence

We can however support the right candidate to achieve any level of industry training/qualifications they may not have in the nice to have' list.
