Clarkson Owens Recruitment is working with a client in Edinburgh to recruit a Design Engineer specialising in highways and drainage. The role involves delivering high-quality drainage and highway designs across projects, with a focus on innovative, sustainable and cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, chartered status or working towards chartership, at least three years in highways/drainage design, and experience with Civil 3D and InfoDrainage.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Civil Engineering or higher.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in highways and/or drainage design.
• Experience in a civil engineering design environment, ideally consultancy.
• Experience using Civil 3D for highways and earthworks.
• Experience using InfoDrainage for drainage design.
• Experience contributing to tenders with risk identification and mitigation.
• Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build client relationships.
• Willingness to travel across the UK; clean driving licence desirable.

Aufgaben

• Produce highways and drainage designs across projects.
• Provide technical expertise to colleagues and clients.
• Undertake design risk assessments and contribute to hazard workshops.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines for integrated solutions.
• Assist with tenders and design strategies.
• Identify project risks and mitigation measures.
• Assist with procurement and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and coordinate tender deliverables.
• Liaise with clients and design teams throughout projects.
• Attend design team, client and site meetings as required.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Share technical knowledge and support the development of others.
• Keep technical knowledge up to date.
• Contribute to business development and maintain client relationships.
