The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, chartered status or working towards chartership, at least three years in highways/drainage design, and experience with Civil 3D and InfoDrainage.

• Degree in Civil Engineering or higher.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in highways and/or drainage design.
• Experience in a civil engineering design environment, ideally consultancy.
• Experience using Civil 3D for highways and earthworks.
• Experience using InfoDrainage for drainage design.
• Experience contributing to tenders with risk identification and mitigation.
• Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build client relationships.
• Willingness to travel across the UK; clean driving licence desirable.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality drainage and highway designs across a range of projects, ensuring designs are innovative, sustainable, cost-effective and meet client requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Produce highways and drainage designs across a variety of projects.
• Provide technical expertise and specialist advice to colleagues and clients.
• Undertake Design Risk Assessments and contribute to project hazard workshops.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines to ensure integrated project solutions.
• Assist with civil engineering tendering, including reviewing tenders and developing design strategies.
• Identify project risks and opportunities and develop appropriate mitigation measures.
• Assist with the procurement and coordination of specialist subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and coordinate tender deliverables.
• Liaise with clients and design teams throughout projects.
• Attend design team, client and site meetings as required.

Occasional site visits may involve early starts, late finishes or other unsociable hours.

About You

• A degree or higher-level qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Chartered status or be actively working towards chartership.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience working on projects involving highways and/or drainage design.
• Experience working within a civil engineering design environment, ideally within a consultancy.
• Experience using Civil 3D (or similar) for highways and earthworks design.
• Experience using InfoDrainage (or similar) for drainage design.
• Experience contributing to tenders, including risk identification and mitigation.
• Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Confidence in presenting technical ideas and solutions.
• The ability to represent the business professionally during site visits and surveys.
• Experience working on infrastructure projects, particularly within the rail or power sectors, would be advantageous.
• A current clean driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the UK is desirable.
