Job summary

Elite Hire is seeking a skilled Highways Design Engineer to design safe, buildable road schemes from feasibility through construction in the UK. You will produce alignments, junctions, drainage, and accompanying drawings and calculations, while coordinating with authorities and safety audits.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of UK highways design experience, strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D capabilities, and a solid grasp of DMRB and local standards, plus a working knowledge of CDM regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years in UK highways design.
• Good knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets and local authority standards.
• Strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills.
• Understanding of CDM regulations.

Responsibilities

About the role [Company] is a civil engineering consultancy delivering highways, drainage and transport schemes for local authorities, developers and National Highways. We need a Highways Design Engineer to design safe, buildable road schemes from feasibility to construction.

What you will do

• Design highway alignments, junctions, kerbing and road markings
• Produce Section 278 and Section 38 designs for developments
• Coordinate highway drainage design
• Prepare drawings, calculations and design reports in Civil 3D
• Respond to road safety audits and local authority technical approval
• Support schemes through construction, including site visits

What you need
