Dorset Council is seeking a proactive Construction Manager to join our Highways Construction Delivery Team. You will lead a team of operatives and subcontractors to deliver high-quality highway works across the county, including resurfacing, drainage, and improvements.

This role requires regular travel to depots across Bridport, Charminster, Stalbridge or Ferndown and oversight of budgets, health and safety, and contract compliance. A council vehicle will be provided to support site operations.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience leading highways construction or civil engineering projects
• Strong budgeting and resource management skills
• Solid understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and safe work practices
• Ability to manage multiple teams and subcontractors
• CSCS Card holder with competent site management knowledge
• Experience delivering on-time, on-budget highways schemes

Aufgaben

• Direct delivery of revenue maintenance, structural maintenance and major construction work
• Control budgets and resources to minimise disruption and ensure safe, quality delivery
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards
• Plan and execute works programmes to maximise efficiency and cost effectiveness
• Supervise use of materials, plant and vehicles to optimise utilisation
• Support the premises/depot operations and participate in standby rota during winter maintenance
