Hampshire County Council is seeking a Highway Technician to join our Highways Delivery team. This role helps maintain the 8,000+km of Hampshire roads and footpaths, with opportunities at Hook, Petersfield and Bishops Waltham depots, and a mix of outdoor and office tasks.
No previous highways experience is required: we provide excellent training and development, and you will be paid to learn while making a real difference to communities across the county.

As a Highway Technician, you will be assisting engineers in delivering a large variety of highway repairs throughout Hampshire as well as dealing with highway emergencies, adverse weather response and highway enforcement to enable the efficient use of Hampshire’s highway network.
You will have the ability to fulfil the travel requirements of the role (it is essential that you have a full current UK drivers’ licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis), and, as required, be able to work out of hours to respond to weather and other emergencies.
