Job summary

Cormac is seeking a number of Operatives to join our highway maintenance team delivering services to residents of Cornwall. The successful applicants will be based in North East Cornwall, primarily at Tolpetherwin (Launceston) and Tiscott Wood (Bude) depots, and will perform a range of manual tasks as part of a team.

You will work outdoors in varying weather, carry out pothole repairs, drainage maintenance, traffic management, vegetation clearance, and use small plant and machinery.

Qualifications

• Good general awareness of health and safety.
• Previous experience undertaking manual tasks.
• Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out minor highway works such as pothole repairs and kerb repairs.
• Maintain highway drainage and assist with traffic management.
• Perform vegetation clearance, strimming and hedge trimming.
• Use small plant and machinery such as strimmers, disc saws and plate compactors.
• Handle construction materials like asphalt and concrete.
