Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a 5-6 month contract role to supervise and manage highway maintenance operations. The role focuses on keeping the network safe and functional for local communities, with duties spanning reactive, preventative, and routine maintenance across footways, carriageways, cycle paths, drainage, and rights of way.

The ideal candidate has a background in highways maintenance or civil engineering, can work independently, and has strong problem-solving abilities.

Summary

• This role involves a 5-6 month contract with a local authority, offering a daily rate of £250 under an umbrella arrangement. The primary responsibility is to supervise and manage highway maintenance operations, ensuring the network is kept safe and functional for local communities. The position supports the execution of reactive, preventative, and routine maintenance programs across various infrastructures, including footways, carriageways, cycle paths, drainage systems, and public rights of way.

• Ensure adherence to statutory obligations for highway maintenance.

Requirements:

• Essential Experience Required
  • Background in highways maintenance, civil engineering, construction, or a related field.
    
  • Proven ability to work independently, achieving objectives while managing multiple priorities.
    
  • Experience in problem-solving and implementing effective solutions.
    
• Essential Qualifications Required
  • A-Level, NVQ Level 3, or an equivalent qualification.
    
  • HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Highways, Construction, or a related discipline.
    

Additional Information

• Working hours are 37 hours per week, with flexibility between 0700 and 1900.
  
• The contract extends until March 2027.
  
• A valid driving license and DVLA web check are required.
  
• The role is operational, with four days per week spent in the County or office.
  
• Payments are processed bi-weekly.
