Job summary

Arup in Manchester is seeking a Highway Engineer to join the Transport team, delivering local authority, National Highways and multidisciplinary projects across the North West from concept to detailed design.

You will apply core skills in alignment and drainage, utilities coordination, and 3D federated models, with opportunities to develop project management and client-facing capabilities. Part-time options available with a minimum of 3 days per week.

Qualifications

• HND, degree or master’s in civil engineering; professional qualification or working toward qualification.
• Experience using Civil 3D/OpenRoads/InfoDrainage to deliver highway projects.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of diverse transportation projects.
• Develop and review drawings, reports, calculations and specifications to contract requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants to deliver on time and to high quality.
• Prepare bid documents for high-profile projects under tight deadlines.
• Support delivery across the full lifecycle of highways and infrastructure projects.
